Ipswich tourism operators among best in Queensland

The 2024 Best of Queensland Experiences results are in, and Ipswich is holding its own when offering world-class attractions.

Forty-seven Ipswich Tourism Operator Network (ITON) members have been awarded the accolade for consistent delivery of exceptional experiences in 2024.

Ipswich City Council Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Pye Augustine said she was incredibly proud of the hard work that local tourism operators put into their businesses.

“It’s hardworking operators like those recognised in Best of Queensland that makes Ipswich the tourism destination that it is today, bringing in $300 million of revenue and over one million visitors each year,” Cr Augustine said.

“From award-winning stays at Spicers Hidden Vale to delectable dinners at The Cottage Restaurant, family-friendly fun at the Ipswich Nature Centre and adventure experiences like Valhalla Paintball, there’s plenty of amazing experiences in Ipswich waiting to be explored.

“Congratulations to all who received such positive feedback from their customers. This result shows how bright the future is for Ipswich’s tourism industry.”

Ipswich business Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights was one of only eight businesses in Queensland to receive 100 out of 100 points in the Best of Queensland Experiences Program, with an average ReviewPro GRI score (based on customer reviews) above 95.

It is the fifth year in a row that Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights has achieved a perfect 100 out of 100 points in the Best of Queensland Experiences judging.

Floating Images is run by husband-and-wife team Graeme and Ruth Day who are excited to offer “exceptional transformational experiences, exceeding customer expectations, and meeting industry best practice”.

“As a small family aviation business, offering personal and boutique balloon flights, we are very proud to have achieved this recognition of the states’ tourism program once again,” Mr Day said.

More outstanding success stories this year are three Ipswich businesses recognised for consistently delivering an exceptional experience.

Monte Lane, The Llama Farm and Valhalla Paintball each received ReviewPro GRI scores of 100, the maximum possible. This is assessed by looking at each business’ ReviewPro Global Review Index (GRI) score, based on review data collected from 140+ online travel agencies and review sites.
