While Santa and his elves have been busy in the North Pole workshop, Christmas markets and late-night shopping events are popping up all over Ipswich.
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the variety of Christmas markets are a wonderful place to see the talent of local artisans on display.
“We are very lucky to live in such a creative city where we have so many talented local artisans and opportunities to buy their Christmas inspired creations,” Mayor Harding said.
“Whether it’s a unique special gift from a family day out at The Soul Nook Collective Christmas Markets in Marburg, or a handmade treasure from the Handmade Expo Christmas Extravaganza in Tulmur place, or Orion’s beautiful Twilight Markets, there’s sure to be something for everyone.”
“The Holly Jolly Christmas Markets will be a night of show stopping entertainment, rides and carols sure to distract loved ones while perusing the stalls – and I hear Santa himself will be dropping in!”
Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee Chairperson Councillor Andrew Fechner said the markets and their festivities added a special touch to Christmas in Ipswich.
“Christmas is all about community and this year’s markets program combines night shopping with family fun entertainment,” Cr Fechner said.
“Experience an Up Late evening at Top of Town, and the Riverlink Market zone full of music and market stalls all day until late plus Orion’s Twilight Markets are back and full of wonder and delight.
“Ipswich is the place to be this this Christmas.”
