They have been described as “fast becoming a national treasure” and now Australian blues and roots duo Busby Marou are set to bring their unique sound to Ipswich.
Ipswich was recently confirmed as a stop on the duo’s The Great Divide tour, named after their recently released fourth studio album of the same title.
The pair will perform in Ipswich on Friday, 6 March at 8pm. The city is one of only three Queensland locations on their tour and the only all ages venue.
Queenslander Tom Busby and Torres Strait Islander Jeremy Marou have been playing music together for more than a decade since their initial music connection at a pub in Rockhampton.
The duo have gained a reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working live bands, best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship.
Busby Marou’s successes include millions of global streams, top 20 airplay and three ARIA charting albums.
The band’s self-titled album is ARIA Gold, while their follow-up album Farewell Fitzroy debuted at number 5 on the ARIA albums chart.
Their third album, Postcards From The Shell House, was the band’s first ARIA number 1 album.
Their latest offering – The Great Divide – is a powerful chapter of the story of two men, from different worlds, on the same journey.
It is the first chapter demonstrating maturity as a result of sharing life experiences and touches on themes such as love, heartbreak, grief, education by mistakes, knowledge of truth, respect of culture and appreciation of the journey.
Tickets are $45 and can be booked here.
