No bookings are needed at the Ipswich CBD Community Vaccination Clinic this weekend, as the State Government launches the Super Walk-in Weekend and makes Pfizer jabs available to all Queenslanders over 12.
The CBD Clinic will be open from 8am to 4pm, with free parking at the Nicholas Street car park.
A sausage sizzle will also be available for those visiting the vaccination clinic, thanks to a partnership between The Ipswich Hospital Foundation and Young Veterans Ipswich.
The BBQ will be located at the front of Council’s administration building in Tulmur Place at 1 Nicholas Street on Saturday.
West Moreton Health COVID-19 Executive Lead Matthew Tallis said anyone aged over 12 years is encouraged to come forward for a Pfizer vaccination, including people aged over 60 who will have access to Pfizer.
“We can vaccinate more than 1000 people a day at the Ipswich CBD clinic, so we have a lot of capacity this weekend,” Mr Tallis said.
The Ipswich CBD clinic in the Nicholas Street Precinct occupies the former Harvey Norman showroom and can be accessed via the Terry White Chemmart arcade.
People should wear a short-sleeve shirt and bring their Medicare card and photo identification on the day, as well as a list of medications they are currently taking.
At least seven days should be allowed between the COVID-19 vaccine and any other vaccine, such as the fluvax.
Appointments already made at the clinic will continue to be honoured over the weekend and people who book in advance will save time waiting in the walk-in line.
The local phone number for local bookings is 3413 7102.
The clinic is open 8am to 4pm 7 days a week and until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Other places you can be vaccinated in the region (but are not part of Walk-in Weekend) are:
- The Salvation Army Church Hall, corner of Brisbane Rd and Coal St, Bundamba. Open today (Friday 17 September) and next Monday to Friday by appointment. The temporary clinic will return in 3 weeks for second doses. Phone bookings encouraged on 3413 7102.
-
Somerset Civic Centre, 35 Esk Hampton Rd, Esk. Open Tuesday (21 September) to Saturday (25 September) for second doses. Walk-ins accepted between 9am and 3pm.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the Super Walk-in Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to work together for a COVID-safe community.
“Thank you to the dedicated staff at West-Moreton Health and to those residents and ratepayers who have rolled their sleeves up already,” Mayor Harding said.
“Ipswich Central is a perfect place for residents to come and get your vaccine, do some shopping, grab a snag at the Ipswich Hospital Foundation’s BBQ or visit the library at the same time.”
