Ipswich Show

Ipswich Show is one of the biggest events of the Ipswich calendar. Head on down to the show grounds this weekend and be entertained.

Watoto Children's Choir at family fun day

The Watoto Children’s Choir, a group of orphans from Uganda, will continue their six-month Australian tour featuring a brand new concert, Signs and Wonders. The free concert will feature worship songs that share the stores of the children. The performance is part of the Greater Springfield Family Fun Day. which will include performances by local dance studios and school students, rides, market stalls and fireworks.

NEEDLE FELTING GNOMES

Explore the wonderful world of needle felting while creating your own gnome. All materials supplied including a clover pen style needle felting tool, foam pad and fibre. Bookings essential. Book here.

Warmachine Hordes Tournament

Get your miniatures ready. This is a 75 point SR2017 event. Two list optional. No divide and conquer. Three rounds. No painting requirements, but a painting prize will be given out. Every player will be going home with at least one thing from the store’s Warmachine/Horde range.

Tivoli Drive-In: Peter Rabbit & Paul, Apostle of Christ

Come along and check out one of this season’s hottest movies – Peter Rabbit. It will be followed by Paul Apostle of Christ. There will be market stalls from 4pm and the cafe will be open.

Two Smooth at Brothers

Featuring the astonishing vocals of Christie Dawkins, Two Smooth plays all the hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.

Venus Envy at Brothers

Unique, powerful and brilliant. That is the best way to describe Venus Envy. Renowned as one of the finest cover acts in Queensland, everywhere this band goes they set a new benchmark – a must see.

COST: Free

Learn 3D design and print

This three-week course will teach you the basics in 3D design using an online tool, Tinkercad. Start to create your own unique design, explore similar designs online and mix them into your own. Prepare your 3D designed object for printing and have a chance to design in virtual reality using Google Blocks. Basic computer skills are required. Email address is required for these sessions. Week 3 talks about importing and mixing 3D designs, preparing 3D design for printing, exploring other 3D design applications, and using virtual reality to create 3D designs.

parkrun

parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. All ages and abilities can go along and run the 5km course. Please register before your first run. Bring a printed copy of your barcode so you can get your time. You are also welcome to grab a coffee in a local cafe with the parkrunners afterwards.

19th & 20th Century Works

View some of the finest pieces from the Ipswich Art Gallery’s collection of 19th and early 20th century fine art and folk art, as well as contemporary works reflecting Ipswich’s heritage.

Ipswich Artists: works from the Collection

See the diversity and skill of local Ipswich artists in this display featuring works that have been acquired for the Ipswich Art Gallery Collection.

Artists featured are Gary Abkin, Tim Acutt, Chenaya Bancroft-Davis, Annie Clarke, Donna Davis, Charmaine Davis, Mieke den Otter, Colleen Gardener, Angela Geertsma, Sally Harrison, Lizzett Kim, Wayne McDonnell, Sharon McKenzie, Deb Mostert, Kate Roberts, Andrew Spark and Helen Vere. Many of the pieces displayed have been acquired through the Ipswich Art Awards over the past 15 years and are shown in conjunction with this year’s Ipswich Festival.
