An application has been lodged with Ipswich City Council to build a large warehouse development in the Redbank Motorway Estate.
Royal Bayside Unit Trust No. 2 is seeking a permit to build a 9,892m2 development, including a warehouse, office spaces, truck loading docks and 57 parking spaces.
The site, which is currently being used to farm crops, covers a total of 8.87 hectares across at 41 and 45 Monash Rd.
The proposed warehouse development would operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As part of its proposal, the developer states it would give an “expansive area of linear parkland” along the edge of the Brisbane River to Ipswich City Council.
“The Redbank Peninsula has been sequentially developed for industrial purposes, with the subject site being one of the last remaining sites on the peninsula to be developed with an associated dedication of linear parkland,” the application notes.
“The proposed development represents an opportunity for council to obtain this significant area of parkland, which is the final local link between publicly owned land to the east, and land under a dedication agreement to the west.”
Ipswich City Council is yet to consider the application.

Redbank has been turned into Ipswich’s industrial dumping ground….
Residents are furious.
companies dumping on residents with obscene noise, traffic, and dust pollution.
QR turning redbank station into a make shift rail yard and loud machinery 24/7, abusive rail commuters, drunks and hoons.
the size of these so called warehouses is ridiculous, the new coles distribution is an absolute eyesore.
when will the council take concerns of residents seriously and start looking after the interests of the residents, instead of favouring the lucrative fee driven property development.
it’s about time our councillors pulled their finger out and meet with the residents.
