Footpath extended on Rosewood’s School Street

Division 4 Councillors Jim Madden and David Martin inspect the new School Street footpath.

A footpath extension on Rosewood’s School Street is now complete with the installation of a new concrete footpath in front of Rosewood State School.

Division 4 Councillor Jim Madden said students, families and staff would especially benefit from this upgrade.

“Division 4 Councillors put forward the request for a footpath to connect the main entrance of Rosewood State School to the carpark after noticing a need for better accessibility,” Cr Madden said.

“The existing footpath has now been extended to connect the driveway of the carpark to the pedestrian crossing and the main entrance.

“The school hall is accessed via the carpark, and with a footpath now installed, students, families and staff can access the area with ease.

“I’m very pleased that the works were able to be completed with little impact on the local community.”

Division 4 Councillor David Martin said the new footpath would be welcomed by the community.

“The new footpath will make a difference to the community, especially for students who will be returning to school shortly,” Cr Martin said.

“The footpath will also cater to all those with accessibility needs, allowing safer access to the school from the carpark.

“I’m delighted to have these works delivered to the community. Though it may seem small in nature, the community will see notable benefits of this footpath.”

Installation of the footpath was funded through the Division 4 Provisional Projects program.
